The next in a line of inspirational and motivational books. In the same vein as Smile Anyway, Making Wishes, Slaying Dragons, and Being Bold, Hope Evermore includes quotes, poetry, and a number of short stories. Enjoy a profound thought for every day of the year, including the popular following: "Love accepts you as you. It will never ask that you be someone else." “If faith without works is dead, then in the same vein, compassion without action is dead, and concern without voice is also dead.” "It may look crazy to you, but if you had traveled another’s road in their shoes, you would see and understand the underlying sanity in their actions. This is why we should love more and judge less." "Tomorrow is just another synonym for hope." This book was written to inspire and uplift individuals.

My Review:
This is a well-written story. It was difficult to read because of the awful way some characters were treated simply because of differences in appearance. The main character, whom the mountain folks liked to refer to as Book Woman, is a gentle, kind, loveable young lady who yearns to be accepted by society. Despite her struggles with poverty and prejudice against her blue skin, she spends her days delivering library books to the people of Troublesome Creek, wanting to bring joy and education to those who eagerly await her books. Book Woman has a large heart overflowing with empathy, and that causes her to give what little she has to those in need, including any food she acquires; her time and assistance; a sympathetic, listening ear; and especially any storybooks, magazines, and newspapers she can get her hands on. The author seems to keep true to the time period, along with the social injustices that existed in that area of Kentucky. The hope is that humanity learns from its past poor behaviors and matures as citizens who are loving, kind, and humane towards all of their neighbors.
