About Author, R.E.Goodrich

Over the past decade, author Richelle E. Goodrich has built an unusually diverse and steadily increasing body of work that spans fantasy, poetry, inspirational writing, and dark fiction. Her career began in 2012 with the launch of The Harrowbethian Saga, a six-book sci-fi fantasy series that occupied her creative efforts for seven years. By 2019, she completed the saga with Eena, The Companionship of the Dragon’s Soul, marking a major milestone and establishing her as a committed world-builder with an eye for myth, emotional depth, and imaginative adventure. Yet even as she constructed this sprawling fictional universe, Goodrich simultaneously pursued other avenues of storytelling, demonstrating a remarkable capacity for creative multitasking. Alongside her fantasy novels, Goodrich became well known for her collections of poetry, motivational reflections, and quotable wisdom. Starting with Smile Anyway in 2014, she developed a signature style centered on daily inspiration—a format she revisited repeatedly with books like Making Wishes (2015), Slaying Dragons (2017), Being Bold (2020), and Hope Evermore (2024). These works blend short verse, reflective commentary, and encouraging thoughts that readers apply to everyday life. Many of her quotes have found their way into classrooms, anthologies, brand campaigns, and television, helping her reach an audience far larger than the average independent author typically enjoys. In the late 2010s, Goodrich’s creative range widened even further. She released standalone works such as Dandelions: The Disappearance of Annabelle Fancher, a dramatic and emotionally charged novel, and Secrets of a Noble Keykeeper, a fantasy tale with a distinctly dreamlike atmosphere. These books showcase her ability to shift tone—from tender to suspenseful, from whimsical to intense—without sacrificing clarity or sincerity. They also emphasize a defining characteristic of her writing: the blending of emotional resonance with imaginative storytelling. After concluding her major fantasy saga, Goodrich’s later work leaned increasingly toward introspection and lyrical expression. The 2020s saw the publication of The Tarishe Curse (2022), a dark, paranormal novel, followed by A Heart Made of Tissue Paper (2023), a collection of intimate poetry that explores emotional fragility, longing, and human vulnerability. In 2024 she released Hope Evermore, another daily-inspiration volume that weaves together spirituality, encouragement, and poetic insight. These recent works highlight her evolving voice—one that has grown more reflective, philosophical, and concentrated on universal human experiences. Collectively, the past decade reflects a period of impressive productivity and artistic expansion. Goodrich has not only released a steady stream of books—across multiple genres and formats—but has grown a widespread presence through her well-circulated quotations and inspirational writing. Whether crafting epic fantasy, heartfelt poetry, or uplifting daily reflections, she demonstrates a persistent drive to create, express, and connect. Her work invites readers into worlds both fantastical and familiar, while her quotes inspire countless individuals in everyday life. Richelle E. Goodrich delivers a rare blend of imagination, versatility, and personal authenticity. Her writing moves comfortably between the epic and the intimate, the adventurous and the contemplative. Few authors manage to cultivate such a diverse and consistent catalog within a single decade, and fewer still do so while also contributing art, poetry, and motivational writing that resonate far beyond their books. Her accomplishments reflect not only a prolific output but a creative spirit committed to storytelling in all forms. Her written works include:

I am currently reading the following books:
The Hidden Island by Charity Rau The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert Wish You Well by David Baldacci Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I recently finished reading: The Maid (Molly the Maid, #1) by Nita Prose
My Review:
The Maid by Nita Prose pulled me in from the very beginning and refused to let go. What stayed with me most was the main character, Molly Gray, herself. She is simple and straightforward in the best sense of the word—unapologetically proud of her love for cleanliness and order, deeply committed to doing things the “proper” way. She sees the good in people, even when they don’t deserve it. That optimism makes her vulnerable, and at times painfully naive. Watching despicable characters take advantage of her trust and simplicity was hard, but it made it impossible not to root for Molly. The mystery unfolds at a steady pace, not a crime where the answers are obvious halfway through the book. I found myself questioning everyone, circling back to earlier moments, and still feeling uncertain. Nita Prose does a great job of keeping the reader just a step behind, wondering who is guilty. I truly did not guess the ending. The outcome of the final reveal was significantly dependent upon the close relationship between Molly and her late grandmother; things may have turned out differently otherwise. It hits with real emotional weight, not just shock value. This book is clever, fun, and my favorite kind of mystery—where the true crime stays unsolved until the final pages, and the main character lingers in my thoughts long after.
The following quote is a glimpse into the heart of R.E.Goodrich:
“I like bubbles in everything. I respect the power of silence. In cold or warm weather, I favor a mug of hot cocoa. I admire cats—their autonomy, grace, and mystery. I awe at the fiery colors in a sunset. I believe in deity. I hear most often with my eyes, and I will trust a facial expression before any accompanying comment. I invent rules, words, adventures, and imaginary friends. I pretend something wonderful every day. I will never quit pretending.”

Sci-Fi Fantasy & Romance Series

The Harrowbethian Saga

Dive into the world of Moccobatra where a young queen rules the land of Harrowbeth while she is pulled in different directions trying to decide whose outlandish tales of justice and heroism to believe.
After an unplanned trip to the doctor’s office, Sevenah Williams discovers that her ancestry is not exactly human. This shocking news puts her on a course to find out the truth about her birth parents and a tragic past that placed her in hiding as a toddler.
Eventually, she takes on her birth name―Eena―and accepts her birthright as the only living heir to the throne of Harrowbeth. But this privilege comes with a price. She learns this during the painful process of physically joining with an heirloom necklace known as the dragon’s soul. From that point on, Queen Eena slowly uncovers powers granted her by the necklace, giving her the ability to manipulate energy—a gift that comes in handy when she faces enemies who wish to see her royal line eliminated.
Eena must fight alongside new friends including Derian, the captain of the Kemeniroc; Kira, a Mishmorat with might and spunk; Shanks and his crew of giant Viiduns; and Ian, her best friend and sworn protector. Her greatest challenges, however, turn out to be personal: learning to love, to trust, and to handle adult problems when she simply longs to remain a carefree, high school senior from Earth with no bigger decisions than what to wear to prom.
