Find out what I am working on now...
Yes, new writing projects are in the works!
Here is where you can keep up-to-date on my progress with new manuscripts, cover designs, audiobooks, etc. Believe me, there is always something more to do! I am presently writing the first draft of a new, developing story. The title is not yet decided, but for this manuscript I am using a tentative title, Phantom's Veil. I am also considering some cover design ideas that need more artistic attention. All of it takes time, which is why I chart my progress on the graphs below. Feel free to check here periodically for updates.

My steps for writing a book:
Step One
Dream up a complete story and make detailed notes. I want to be satisfied with the characters, their motivations, and how the story winds up.
Step Two
Write a first draft from beginning to end. I often write the final chapter and then work from chapter one to reach the already-determined end.
Step Three
Read through the story and note where to make changes. Rewrites here constitute my second draft.
Step Four
Read through the story and note where to make changes. Rewrites here constitute my third draft.
Step Five
Send manuscript to beta readers. While they read the story and make notes, I do the same and create a fourth draft.
Step Six
Sketch out ideas for a book cover. Narrow them down to a few possible designs. Ask for opinions.
Step Seven
Examine the notes from beta readers and make appropriate changes to my manuscript. This constitutes a fifth draft.
Step Eight
Complete a thorough edit on the manuscript with spellcheck and grammar editing software. This constitutes a sixth draft.
Step Nine
Create the book cover. Outline a penciled sketch in black ink and then scan into computer. Add color, shadowing, highlighting, and fonts with Photoshop.
Step Ten
Resize the final book design to make three individual covers, one for kindle, one for paperback, and one for hardcover.
Step Eleven
Upload manuscript and cover to online book-publishing site and approve the final draft.
Step Twelve
Create an audible version of the book and upload it as a purchase option. Now, the promotional work begins.

Summary:
"Annabelle, the girl who was overlooked, unwanted, insignificant, worthless." — Richelle E. Goodrich
Annabelle Fancher lives with her mother and her often-absent, alcoholic father. When he is not on the road, his presence at home creates heightened anxiety in his wife and daughter—fear caused by years of abuse. Annabelle copes with her circumstances by escaping into popular fairy tales where she dreams characters to life. When her dreams cross over into waking fantasies, and the ghostly image of a dreamed character appears before her, Annabelle begins a real struggle to separate reality from pretend and sanity from beautiful madness. This brave, young girl tenderly acquaints the reader with her lonely struggles while sharing her courage in the face of personal adversity. Hers is a story where realism and fantasy beautifully intertwine.
This fictional tale does an honest job of mirroring the unfortunate reality of many young people whose home lives are private nightmares unobserved by the outside world. Most of the events in this book were taken from the lives of individuals known by the author.
