The Harrowbethian Saga

A Six-Book Series

by Richelle E. Goodrich
Purchase
kindle | Paperback
Summary:
She is young, beautiful, powerful—and the last surviving heir to the throne. In a galaxy divided by loyalty and ambition, two brothers are determined to shape her destiny.
An unexpected visit to the doctor's office changes Sevenah Williams's life forever. What begins as a routine appointment uncovers an impossible truth: she is not entirely human. The revelation launches her on a journey to uncover the mystery of her birth, the identity of her parents, and the tragic events that forced her into hiding as a toddler.
Embracing her true identity as Eena, the last living heir to the throne of Harrowbeth, she accepts a royal destiny she never sought. But claiming her birthright comes at a steep cost. Through a painful union with an ancient heirloom known as the Dragon's Soul, Eena awakens extraordinary abilities that allow her to manipulate energy—powers that make her both a symbol of hope and the primary target of ruthless enemies determined to extinguish her bloodline forever.
As danger closes in, Eena finds unexpected allies: Derian, the steadfast captain of the Kemeniroc; Ian, her loyal best friend and sworn protector; Kira, a fearless Mishmorat; and Shanks, the formidable leader of a race of warrior Viiduns. Together, they stand against those who would destroy Harrowbeth's future.
Yet Eena's greatest battles are not fought on the battlefield. They lie within her own heart. Torn between duty and the ordinary life she longs to reclaim, she must learn to trust, to love, and to shoulder the responsibilities of a queen while still yearning for the simple fun of adolescence—where her biggest worry should have been choosing a dress for prom.
Eena, The Dawn and Rescue is an epic blend of science fiction, fantasy, adventure, romance, and coming-of-age storytelling that introduces the unforgettable beginning of the Harrowbethian Saga.

Finally, Fantasy that Focuses on Character Development More than Magic Systems
5 out of 5 stars
Ascultone Confronts Eena
I have read 3 of the 6 books in the series and I would like to talk about them so far. A great deal was done with world building. The author has taken the time to build a political structure, a magic system, weaving in culture, history, science and magic. The protagonist is a young immature girl of 17 who is thrust in the center of events that are both outside her control and beyond her maturity level to approach properly. It's a coming of age story as she deals with personalities, friends, enemies, warriors, politics, relationships and immortals. While there are space battles and evil characters, many of the grand sweeping events are, as life often is, simply happening around us and we react to them sometimes well, and sometimes less well. While exciting and powerful events are happening, they aren't like your normal cookie cutter examples where you are jumping from cliff hanger to cliff hanger. It's not like a rushed Indiana Jones story where you are led step by step, but rather more life like, as the large events creep by, the rest of life happens, friendships are forged and tried, we have successes and failures, we please and disappoint people along the way and we try to both learn and grow. This book has a framework where it operates, and the protagonist is sometimes frustratingly immature but true to character. The story is more interested in the growth of friends and wisdom rather than the new flavor of laser blaster. There are enemies who are both powerful and dangerous, and again (as is true to life) you don't get to just ignore the problems or sweep them away but must deal with them the best way you know how, and sometimes we deal with them better than others. But the books march you forward with plots and twists that are unexpected. There are plenty of agendas, plenty of people to trust and those that are not to be trusted. Real dangers, real villains, and always those close few that we depend on regardless. I think you will find that this is a great young adult series. Lots of action and conflict and the people feel real and honest. —Robert
Captured Me From the Beginning

Richelle Goodrich writes a story that captures your interest from the beginning. Eena is a typical high school girl until the day she is kidnapped. Her character is developed beautifully, and you want to be on her side as the story evolves. She is courageous in her journey to discover who she is. —D. Noel

My Favorite So Far
5 out of 5 stars
Eena, The Two Sisters
This is the 4th of the Harrowbethian Saga. It is a a science fiction, love novel about a young queen who is confronted by enemies who appear unbeatable and who pose a deadly threat to her and her people. She, her fiance and her protector battle against enormous odds and what appear to be a hopeless struggle. This is probably one of my favorites of the four. It is packed with adventure, romance, mystery and delivers quite an emotional punch towards the end. It about breaks your heart, lots of sniffles, however, this book is not the end of the saga. —Arlene B.

Ian Stops Eena from Going to Wanyaka Cave
A Must Read
5 out of 5 stars
Big books ARE better! It took me a while but I finally read this entire whole 700 pages book. This story is about Sevenah Williams, a 17 year old with a boring life until she discovers she is an alien and also her name is Eena. She gets kidnaped by Gemdorin although she is protected by Ian and Derian. The author really pull me in the space-fantasy world and correlates myths and traditions. The end of the book makes you wonder if Gemdorin is really the bad guy or the liberator.I think this book has infinite potential and will become eventually very popular. Great job! —Mariana F.
Derian Shares His Definition of Love
I Loved It!
5 out of 5 stars
I LOVED this novel!! It kept me utterly captivated the entire time I was reading it. I could hardly put the book down, and read well into the night on more than one occasion. It is unpredictable and full of surprises waiting with every turn of the page. It is a story full of betrayal and loyalty, friendship and love, and a sense of discovering ones self. Though it is a fantasy book full of common elements, such as dragons and magic and battles, this book possesses its own uniqueness that makes it unlike any other book I have read. The author is a skilled writer with a masterful handle on literary elements that help suck you into the story and become hopelessly attached to the characters within. The novel ended, leaving me with even more questions that what I began with and with a strong urge to immediately get my hands on the second book so I can continue this adventure. —Olivia G.
